Daggerheart FAQ

What is Daggerheart?

Daggerheart is a tabletop RPG published by Darrington Press — the studio behind Critical Role. It uses a 2d12 Hope/Fear system where both the player and GM roll simultaneously, creating a shared momentum mechanic. It launched in 2024 and has grown quickly thanks to the Critical Role community.

What Daggerheart products does Minva sell?

We carry system-agnostic journals, dungeon maps, dice accessories, and other TTRPG products that work well across systems including Daggerheart. Campaign journals, session note pads, and adventure maps are all system-independent — great for any TTRPG.

Do any of Minva's free tools work with Daggerheart?

Yes — the loot generator, encounter calculator, name generator, and shop generator are all system-flexible. Daggerheart uses different mechanics, but the underlying outputs (NPC names, treasure lists, shop inventories, location names) work for any game system.

Is Daggerheart compatible with D&D accessories?

System-agnostic accessories — campaign journals, session note pads, dungeon maps, dice towers — work great with Daggerheart. Anything that's just paper and dice is fair game. Game-system-specific products like 5e character sheets won't apply, but the physical and organizational tools transfer over fine.

How is Daggerheart different from D&D 5e?

The biggest difference is the Hope/Fear dice mechanic — both sides roll at the same time, which keeps the GM in the action rather than just reacting. Daggerheart also has a more flexible narrative structure and a different approach to player agency. It's built to support the kind of dramatic, character-driven play that Critical Role fans love.
